About Amanda
About a year ago, I was walking through a river and asked, "what am I?"
I heard, "that which is constantly birthing," as I watched the river flow around my ankles.
While there's no way to tell you exactly who I am, I can tell you a story about how I find myself here, now, and what Mother Tree Somatic Healing means to me.
***
My mother died unexpectedly when I was fifteen. As the oldest child of three, I was determined to offer my siblings as much "mother" as I could produce in her absence. It was for them, but it was also for me. Playing "mother" with my siblings helped me keep my own mama alive, soul-patterned into and propagated through me.
Eventually, I learned that the love and presence I gave out so freely was precisely what I was hungering for deep down inside. With mentorship, practice, and lots of patience, I learned how turn it in toward myself
to inhabit and attend to my own body and mind. I think of this as inner mothering.
I like to think of Mother Tree Somatic Healing as a collaboration with my sweet mama, sharing
and the love we all need.

Also, friends, I really do live and love this stuff. I can't tell you how much time I've spent exploring the nature of mind and body outside of traditionally-structured learning environments. I hope I never stop.
